FAQ: FAQ

Who are your trainers?

Our trainers are Leslie Plummer and Jade Cromar. You can get to know all about them on our Meet the Trainers page.

What services do you offer?

We offer private lessons and group training classes.

What Classes do you offer? How are they run?

Our classes range from puppy socials to off-leash freedom classes and can all be found on our Training page. Group classes vary from 6-12 students in each class in various locations. Each class has a curriculum that we follow to make sure everyone is getting the most out of the class they attend. OTG is the only class without a curriculum, and we adjust each OTG to the dogs in attendance that day.

What is your payment policy?

All payments are due as follows:

- Lesson payments are due at the beginning of the first lesson (including the full price for all lesson packages).

- Consecutive Week Group Classes require an $80 deposit at the time of booking, and the remainder is due the first night of class.

- Single-Date Class payments are due at the time of sign up.

We do not offer payment plans at this time.

What is your cancellation policy?

-For consecutive week group classes, a cancellation can be made up to 7 days prior to the start date of the class to receive a full refund of their deposit. Any cancellations within 7 days of the start date will forfeit their deposit.

-Single date group classes require a 48-hour cancellation notice to receive a refund, otherwise, no refund will be given.

-Any lessons require a 48-hour notice of cancellation. If the Client fails to give at least 48 hours cancellation notice or is not present at the time of scheduled appointment, session fees are still due. For any packages, the session will still be counted as one lesson.

Do you offer training for Aggressive Dogs?

At this time, we are not offering training for human aggressive dogs but can refer them out to knowledgeable trainers in our area. We are offering training for dog aggressive dogs on a case-by-case basis. Please get in contact with us to see what's available for you.

What is your training style?

We use a balanced approach to training. We believe communication and relationships are the most important part of dog ownership, so we use techniques that allow handlers and their dogs to form a bond. We believe in positive reinforcement and how rewarding good behavior motivates dogs. We also believe in corrections and showing dogs where mistakes were made and how to fix them. There isn’t a one size fits all to dog training, but we believe you can use a bit of everything (praise, reward, correction, motivation) to find what makes you and your dog click.

What tools do you use?

We as a team use most tools available to us depending on what the dog itself needs. We cover the spectrum from flat collars, harnesses, slip leashes, prong collars, e-collars, and head halters. We don’t believe any tool is bad, but there is always the right tool for the job for each dog, and that might be different from dog to dog. Part of classes or private lessons is getting to know your dog and seeing what works best for them.

Do you offer a guarantee on training?

While our main focus is to help you achieve your goals with your dog, we cannot forget that dogs are still animals. They are living, breathing, thinking animals who share their lives with us. We will make every reasonable effort to help you achieve your training and behavior modification goals, but we can’t make any guarantees of your dog’s performance or behavior as a result of training. Dogs will have off days, humans will have off days, and to ask them to do anything different is doing a disservice to the animals we share our lives with.
